Day 4: Friday 9 November 2012, at Mutare Sports Club
Result: Mountaineers (377 and 237/4) beat Eagles (343 and 270) by 6 wickets.

Hosts Mountaineers chased down 236 runs in their Logan Cup match against Eagles at the Mutare Sports Club, to win by six wickets. The platform for the successful chase was laid by Mark Pettini who finished unbeaten on 104 and his partner Timycen Maruma (71*).

But at one time it looked as if the Eagles would soar over the Mountaineers after the Harare side reduced their hosts to 13 for three. Then came the Pettini show! And with it partnerships of 98 and 126 involving the man himself, Gregory Lamb and Maruma. Pettini’s knock was the result of 212 minutes at the crease. It came off 158 balls, 15 of them fours. Maruma’s 71 was crafted from 86 balls, seven of them fours and four sixes.

For Eagles, Mark Mbofana claimed two wickets for 34 runs in 12 overs, while Innocent Chinyoka and Tinotenda Mutombodzi grabbed one each.
