NOTICE OF VACANCIES
Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) wishes to advise that theposition of National Team Coach will become vacant on 1 April 2013, and the position of U19 Team Coach became vacant on 1 October 2012. ZC is therefore inviting applications for the positions of National Team Coach and U19 Team Coach. Details of the positions and application process are detailed below.

POST: NATIONAL TEAM COACH
FOCUS OF ROLE
The Zimbabwean National Team Coach is responsible for:
The collective performance of the Zimbabwean team.
Ensuring individual players are prepared, developed and managed to ensure they perform at the peak of their capabilities at alltimes
Establishing a culture and style of play which,supported by key systems and processes, will contribute to a consistent high performance and development of Zimbabwean cricketers.
Ensure the conduct of the team is in keeping with the highest standards of integrity.

CRITICAL TASKS
- To coach the Zimbabwean team to ensure the highest level of performance is achieved and maintained.
- Develop and implement coaching plans to meet individual development needs by a player and team.
- Provide direction on the game strategy and style of play that enables on field success.
- In conjunction with the Captain and Team Manager, maintain and develop a culture that ensures player behaviour is consistent with the relevant codes of conduct.
- In conjunction with the Captain and other members of the team management, communicate expectations of player behaviour (non-negotiable) at the commencement of each tour.
- In conjunction with the Captain and other members of the management team, deal immediately, openly and effectively with inappropriate behaviour.
- Continue to reinforce and develop within the team, greater recognition of the Spirit of Cricket and the responsibility of players to promote the game and show it in a positive light.
- Build positive relationships with players, teammanagement, National Selectors, ZC staff and Franchise coaches/staff.
- In conjunction with Team Manager, develop a close working relationship with and oversee the physiotherapist, fitness trainer and the psychologist in relation to players’ health, fitness and mental preparedness.
- To clearly understand ZC’ strategic framework and incorporate relevant focus into dealings with players, other staff and stakeholders
- Participate in media commitments as required.
- Ensure the needs of cricket sponsors and stakeholders are met.
- Responsible for performance management and development of staff and assistant coaches.
- Strictly follow finance policies, procedures and contractual obligations.
THE PERSON
Candidates must have the following
Previously played cricket at least at first class level
Be holder of at least a recognized level 3 coaching certificate and must have coached at senior level for at least 5 years.
Have good analytical skills
Motivate players and be firm and fair
Good leadership skills and be able to lead the National Team and the technical staff

The Zimbabwean U19 Team Coach is responsible for:
The collective performance of the Zimbabwean U19 team.
Ensuring individual players are prepared, developed and managed to ensure they perform at the peak of their capabilities at alltimes
Establishing a culture and style of play which,supported by key systems and processes, will contribute to a consistent high performance and development of Zimbabwean U19 cricketers.
Ensure the conduct of the team is in keeping with the highest standards of integrity.
To develop a Zimbabwean U19 team that can achieve success at the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup.

CRITICAL TASKS
To coach the Zimbabwean U19 team to ensure the highest level of performance, and match results in every competition is achieved.
Develop and implement coaching plans to meet individual development needs by a player and team.
To develop international players who will go on to consistently represent the Zimbabwean National Team.
Provide direction on the game strategy and style of play that enables on field success.
In conjunction with other age group coaches, implement development plans for young emerging cricketers, to realize theirpotential.
In conjunction with the team manager, build a culture that promotes unity and commitment to performance on and off the field.
In conjunction with the Team Manager, maintain and develop a culture that ensures player behaviour is consistent with the relevant codes of conduct.
In conjunction with the Team Manager, communicate expectations of player behaviour (non-negotiable).
In conjunction with the Team Manager, deal immediately, openly and effectively with inappropriate behaviour.
Continue to reinforce and develop within the team, greater recognition of Spirit of Cricket and the responsibility of players to promote the game and show it in a positive light.

Candidates must have the following
Previously played cricket at least at first class level
Be holder of at least a recognized level 3 coaching certificate and must have coached at senior level for at least 5 years.
Have good analytical skills and sound judgement.
Motivate players and be firm and fair
Good leadership skills and be able to lead the National U19 Team and the technical staff.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.
Good knowledge of developing Cricketers.
Good planning and Admin Skills.
