The touring South Africa women’s cricket side will arrive in Harare aboard South African Airways flight SA 22, at 1220 hours tomorrow (Wednesday the 22nd of May, 2013).
They will play four matches against the Zimbabwe women’s side.
The first two are one-dayers which will be on Thursday and Saturday. They will then play Twenty20 matches next Monday and Tuesday.
Other than the Saturday match, which will be at the Harare Sports Club, all the other matches will be at the Zimbabwe Cricket Academy ground at the Country Club.
The one-dayers start at 0900 hours, and the T20s matches start at 1330 hours.
The South Africans will return home the day after the last T20 match.
The tour provides vital preparation for both sides. For the hosts, it is important exposure for the battle in Ireland starting in July, to qualify for the International Cricket Council Women’s World Twenty20 tournament. For the tourists, who comprise South Africa’s most promising female players, Harare is a an opportunity to stake a claim for a place in the squad that will go to Bangladesh next year, for the global women’s Twenty20 cricket showcase.
