Mutumbami and Mbofana shine on day 1

Tuesday, 27 September 2011 12:39 Published in Match Reports

Logan Cup, Day 1 in Masvingo: Southern Rocks 292/9 v Mashonaland Eagles.

A spirited innings by young Richmond Mutumbami led the Southern Rocks to a fair position early in the match, but it was Mash Eagles’ Mark Mbofana whose bowling took the eye. The odds were left fairly even at Masvingo Sports Club as the Rocks were 262 for nine at the close of the first day of the Castle Logan Cup match. The home side put up a more resilient fight compared to their six-wicket defeat against the Eagles in the Coca-Cola Pro50 match on Saturday.
