Eagles beat Kenya national team

1st T20 played in Harare: Mash Eagles 126 for 7 (Mutizwa 34, Chigumbura 23, Varaiya 2-22) beat Kenya 124 for 6 (Obuya* 44, N Odhiambo 30*)

Mashonaland Eagles handed the Kenya national team a three-wicket defeat in the first Twenty20 match of their tour of Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club yesterday.

The visitors won the toss and chose to bat first setting a target of 124 runs for the loss of six wickets but the home team chased down the target with two balls remaining.

Mountaineers topple Rocks

Castle Logan Cup match Day 3 in Mutare Sports Club: Southern Rocks (146 and 207) lost to Mountaineers (467/7 dec.) by an innings and 114 runs

Predictably, Mountaineers coasted to an easy innings victory over the sadly depleted Southern Rocks team on the third day of their match at Harare Sports Club.  The match was over shortly after tea, a good all-round performance by the home side.

ICC Women's World Cup Qualifier in Bangladesh: Netherlands Women 148 for 4 beat Zimbabwe Women 145 all out

Zimbabwe women’s national team lost to Netherlands by six wickets in their first match a group A ICC Women's World Cup Qualifier played at the Krira Shikka Protisthan in Dhaka on Monday.  The loss places the ladies at the bottom of their group with Sri Lanka at third position because of a more favourable net run rate.

Ten-team event begins in Dhaka on Monday

Ten women’s teams are in Dhaka, Bangladesh, for the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier 2011, which starts on Monday, and some of the men’s team captains have sent good luck messages to their female counterparts as they strive to qualify for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2013.
